Time to hit the roadway!
The Cinematheque’s knowledge Department is carsharing with Modo since February 2013. We do community outreach, workshops, and video manufacturing courses throughout the Lower Mainland, and because we quite often travel with filmmaking gear, Modo was a vital help in getting us to in which we need to get throughout the year.
This December, Modo aided us with a long-distance task. Living Landscapes is a BC Arts Council-funded grant task that brings our Cinematheque video production workshops to areas throughout the province. The group travelled to Quesnel for a seven-day movie intensive at Correlieu Secondary School.
The snowfall tires were seriously needed on these roadways.
After weighing our choices, we settled on a tangerine Dodge Grand Caravan because of its stow ‘n go seating, dimensions and snow tires. With five camera kits, five large tripods and three people’s luggage, we positively needed the space! In the end, the Grand Caravan proved to possess plenty of space and had been a spacious trip the complete means.

We found its way to snowy Quesnel in around eight hours. So good despite temperatures becoming really below 0° night and day.

All in all, we had a good experience training at Correlieu Secondary. Through the first two times, students wrote and arranged their movies, spent another 2 days to movie them, along with them edited and ready to show into the community 2 days later on. From the Sunday of the few days, the films had been screened within the school theater and followed-up with a great filmmaker Q&A.
Each group of filmmakers had the opportunity to respond to questions about their particular process and their finished item after it was shown.
Our knowledge Team travels throughout BC and reaches fulfill some great pupils.

The residing Landscapes Filmmaking journey will undoubtedly be visiting another community in the springtime of 2015, after which every one of the student films will likely be provided online.
